The Research On The Harmonious Development Between Higher Education And Region In Guangdong Province

The basic mission of a college is to enhance the social sustained development and advancement, which was put forward at the first International Higher Education Conference. During the knowledge age, the material capital has being replaced by knowledge and became the one important production element in economy gradually. While higher education has more and more affinities with the development of social economy, its importance has transformed from the social edge to the center, becoming the generator of the social and economic development. The research on the well-coordinated development between higher education and region has been one of the key research projects all over the world. In particular, it is essential to do some certain research on the harmonious development between the higher education and region in Guangdong. This thesis demonstrated the harmonious development between higher education and region in Guangdong from different point of views, which started from some relevant theories. Then some effective suggestions have been put forward so as to solve the problems and promote the harmonious development between them. As a result, the service for the regional economical development would be expedited.The thesis includes three parts as follows:The first part is about theoretical explanations. At first, some relevant definitions have been explained, such as region, higher education, regional education, harmonious development between higher education and region, etc. Then some basic theories have been explained in detail, such as Wisconsin's idea, the regional competition theory, the new development theory and the advantage of backwardness theory.The second part is the empirical analysis of higher education and harmonious development in Guangdong.
