The Research On The Relations Among The Academic Self-concept, Achievement Goal Orientation And Learning Persistence Of College Students

Learning motivation is one of internal motive powers that improve study directly .Academic self-concept and goal motivation are variables in the system of motivation. The main difference of college students' learning behavior is persistence, so the study chooses learning persistence as a dependent variable. We have recruited plenty of foreign achievement in study of motivation. We also have done some research on base of our country. And most of the past research was on base of middle and primary school students. This study investigates and analyses the college students' academic self-concept, goal motivation and learning persistence. Through this study ,we hope to provide some basis for high education.The results are as following:(1) The college students' academic self-concept decrease because of increasing grade. Grade Three is the transition. And there are significant interaction effects between major and grade, major and degree, grade and degree in it.(2) The college students are inclined to learning goal orientation. There are significant differences between different degree college students in learning goal. And there is a significant interaction effect between major and degree in it.(3) There are significant interaction effects between major and degree, grade and degree in learning persistence.(4) Academic self-concept and learning goal affect the college students' learning persistence directly. Academic self-concept also impacts learning persistence indirectly through learning goal , and learning goal affects learning persistence indirectly through performance goal.
