A Study On The Relationship Between Learning Motivation,learning Strategy,intelligence And Academic Achievement Of Senior One Students

It has always been a hot topic which people pay attention to about how to improve students' academic achievement.Especially,the high school students will face the pressure of college entrance examination,so it is particularly important to improve the performance of high school students.In order to improve students' academic achievement,we should find out which factors are related to their academic achievement.The purpose of this study is to reveal the relationship between "want to learn","learn to learn" and "ability to learn" and academic achievement,so we choose learning motivation,learning strategies and intelligence as our research objects.This study adopts the motivation monitoring scale,the middle school students' learning strategy scale and the Raven Advanced Progressive Matrices Test combined with the students' midterm examination results.The investigation was conducted on 592 fresh students of high middle school in Hebei province.The study shows that:(1)There are significant school differences,major differences and family location differences among the fresh students of high middle school about their learning motivation.The scores of environmental regulation,self-motivation and learning motivation of key middle school students are higher than those of ordinary middle school students.The scores of interest improving,goal arousal and learning motivation of arts students are higher than those of science students.Students with families in cities have higher self-motivation than those with families in rural areas.(2)There are significant school differences,gender differences,major differences,family location differences,and differences about whether they are only child among the fresh students of high middle school about their learning strategies.Students in key middle school are higher than ordinary middle school students in elaboration strategies,monitoring strategies,effort strategies,helping strategies and learning strategies.Girls are higher than boys in rehearsal strategies,time strategies,and environmental strategies.The scores of rehearsal strategy,organizing strategy,planning goal strategy,time strategy,environmental strategy and learning strategies were higher than those of science students.Students in citiesare higher in helping strategies than in rural areas.As only child,students are higher than non-only child in helping strategies.(3)There are significant school differences,major differences,family location differences,and differences about whether they are only children among the fresh students of high middle school about their intelligence.The key middle school students' intelligence is higher than that of ordinary high school students.Science students' intelligence is higher than arts students.Students with families in cities have higher intelligence than those with families in rural areas.As only child,students have higher intelligence than non-only child.(4)The environmental regulation is positively correlated with academic achievement.It have significant positive correlation with academic achievement which includes elaboration strategy,monitoring strategy,effort strategy,helping strategy,as well as meta-cognitive dimension,resource management dimension dimension and the total score of learning strategies.There is a significant positive correlation between intelligence and academic achievement.(5)Environmental regulation of learning motivation,monitoring strategy of learning strategies,and intelligence can effectively predict academic achievement.
