Web-based instruction in our country has been used widely,but quite a few problems need to be reseached and solved.In the available research,most of them discuss the theory model in web-based instruction and technique problems in the web-based instructional system.Very little of positive researh is focusing on many specific problems,and trying to offer the credible of quantitative foundations to teaching practice.Based on the background above mentioned,the positive researh is made for the problems practical value,which is on the web-based instructional effect,when the mode of instructional content presenting and learning style are different. In the research,there are some reference and quotable value on relative theory and teaching practice of web-based instruction. As far as the elementary conception, the generalized conception of web-based instruction is adopted in the thesis:Web-based instruction is the total appellation of multiform instructional activities,which transfer knowledge by the network techniques.In authorized opinion of Ministry of Education Modern Distance Resource Construct Committee,the definition of the web-based course includes two parts,one is instructional content that is organized by certain instructional goals and strategies,the other is web-based instructional setting. In the existing web-based courses,there are two presenting ways on instructional content,which are text and video.Learning style refers to the way of consistency and tends to be habitual learning that is the summation of learning strategy and learning tendency.At present,the problem of web-based learning effects resulting from different learing styles is discussed widely by theoretic way,but the positive research is little. In the thesis the mode of instruction content presenting is specialized to the certain media sign,and in all kinds of media signs, differentiate learning effects between the text and video,and establish the first hypothesis of research is that the favorable instructional effects are much easier to be obtained,when text media presents learning information.The research also focuses on learing style.Because it is complex to describe the learning style,the author chooses the dimension of "Field Independence—Dependence"as the research target,resulting from both of them are in tight contact with informational input.As a result,the second hypothesis is that the students who incilne to Field Dependence are nuch easier to accommodate to web-based instruction and the learning effects are better.Moreover the author makes a plan and carries out it,which compares the instructional effects between web-based instruction and classroom-based tuition instruction. On the base of what mentioned above,the author chooses two chapters that are "education inquire research method"and "education observation research method "in the course of educational technology research method,as learning content,and finishes relevantly the developing network-based text rescources and the making network-based video,finally formed the web-based course.The research uses the Linearity-Embedded Figures Test (Witkin)as the measure tool of Field Independence —Dependence,and compiled test-questions according to instructional content for pretest and posttest to measure tool of the the learning effect,constituted questionnaire of investigation and syllabus of interview to comprehend the feelings of students learning,makes the undergraduate in our college to be audiences,and then,succeeds in the experiment for two months. That conclusions followed was proved by experiment:Undergraduates could make better achievement when the course was presented with network-based text resources than network-based video,the factor of"mode of instructional content presenting"should make an significant influence on learning effect in college courses learning with a differential goal.The learning effect of audiences with different levels on the dimension of "Field Independence—Dependence"did not appear significant difference,it means that there should be more research to clarify the influence of the factors of "learning style".The seniors got high achievement in classroom-teaching instruction than in web-based instruction,and web-based instruction should make a space to improve the learing effect.According to the data from the investigation and the interview,seniors have a more tendency to learning with network-based video than network-based text,and the author concluded on the data from the investigation and the interview that kinescope watching is more relax than text reading in learing.
