The Inquiry Learning, which is a teaching method suitable to the contemporary society developing, has changed the traditional learning style in which students receive knowledge in a passive way. There are still some problems and difficulties existing in implementation of the inquiry learning across China, which require continual exploring and practice. Information Technology can provide plentiful information resources, multimedia environment, assisting facilities and inter-active network for the Inquiry Learning, So a new teaching model which applying Information Technology into the Inquiry Learning is a efficient way in carrying out Inquiry Learning. The advantage of information technology has not been completely developed from the current situation since the inquiry learning was introduced in our country. On the basis of studying from both the abroad and domestic experience of inquiring learning, some attempts have been done for the purpose of how to cultivate students' abilities of actively pursuing, cooperative communication, information processing and creativity and practical abilities, the author has been trying to constitute a teaching model to apply the information technology consisting of planning principle, teaching objectives and carrying out course and evaluation etc. to the Inquiry Learning in the Botany course in junior middle school. A teaching case of "The earthworms, our friends", which we presented it during 2002 annual meeting of national botany course teaching specialty, has been used as a practical case in the paper to explain current situation since that we apply information technology to the teaching model of integrative learning in botany course in junior middle school. The practicing of applying information technology into inquiring learning has many incomparable advantages over traditional teaching model in cultivating the integrative learning capability, enhancing the vigor in classroom and providing more developing room for teachers.
