The section is a brief introduction of the problems studied in this paper, which focused on the background and necessity of the research. The definitions of Case and Case Instruction were introduced and an analysis on the theoretic basis, functions and weaknesses of Case Instruction was given in the second section.The main part of this paper, the third section, deals with the implication of Case Instruction in the teaching of Mathematical Methodology Curriculum as well as the whole process of using Case Instruction in Normal School. Based on the investigation and analysis of the effectiveness of Case Instruction, the paper finally comes to the following findings: (1) the students showed more interest and confidence than before; (2) the students' ability of communication and cooperation were improved; (3) the students' ability of problem-solving was reinforced; (4) both teachers and students enjoyed stable and healthy development in Case Instruction.According to the research result, this paper suggests that the following aspects need further research work: (1) teacher's qualities are the key of the success of Case Instruction; (2) the time spend on the Case discussion was limited; (3) it is difficult to take each student into consideration; (4) the collection work of Cases was limited. |
