Head teachers are educators, conductors and organizers of students .They are the backbone of carrying out all kinds of work in schools and the construction of head teachers contingents are important part of that of teachers. This thesis takes the head teachers from nine vocational schools of Qingyang city as the object of the study. Such educational science research methods as survey, observation, conversation and literature concordance are adopted. This study has made a more penetrating survey and a thorough analysis of present situation of the head teachers' contingents in vocational schools in Qingyang city of Gansu Province. This thesis has put forward the conclusions that are meaningful in reality and valuable in theory. The thesis is mainly composed of three parts.The first part is the foreword. It summarily narrates the realistic meaning, theoretical value of the problem of study and advances the basis of theory and practice. The background and whole thinking of the study has been formed. It relates the present situation and analysis, the specific content, the choice of the study methods and the operating process of the research. An objective appraisal is made of the structure of the head teachers and the qualities in vocational schools in the aspects of the design and compiling of questionnaire and the data process.The second part is the analysis and discussion of the results of the survey. The thesis focally analyses the characteristics of the structure of the head teachers' contingents, the thought moral qualities of the teachers in vocational schools, the qualities of their professional ability and the qualities of individual psychology, the working and living conditions, as Well as the problems existing and their causes by means of the results of the investigation on the basis of the first-hand materials gained from the survey and study.The third part is about the suggestions of the countermeasures of how to improve construction of the head teachers contingents in vocational schools, including firstly, the education administration should strengthen the accomplishment of the head teachers in the continuous educating ,secondly, we should improve the integrating skills of the head teachers through the school-based training, thirdly, the system innovation must be emphasized to raise the head teachers' payment ,show them profound spiritual concern and give enough publicity to their excellent job, lastly, to improve the political position and living conditions of the head teachers and give their more humanistic concern.
