While the class management is the basic unit of the school management, the headteacher, who is the direct educator, organizer, and supervisor for the class, usuallyundertakes more responsibilities and duties. And for the head teachers, the scientific theoryshould be used to guide the practical activities. With the development and progress of thesociety, and the innovation of the education, the leadership behaviors of the head teachersare facing the new problems and challenges. Currently, the ordinary or better junior highschool graduators will normally choose to attend the senior high schools, and then enroll inthe colleges or universities. But recently, with the great progress and the expansion ofenrollment in the five-year vocational schools, the quality of the students rushing to thefive-year vocational school is varied. At the same time, the faculty in those schools isrelatively less qualified. In order to differ from it on the other types of school, the deepstudy and research on the leadership behavior of the five-year vocational school is eagerlydesired.In the research, the leadership behaviors of head teachers in the two typical five-yearvocational schools in Suzhou city are assessed by means of modified PM scalequestionnaires. The result shows that the there are9(45%) head teachers of PM type,1(5%)head teacher of P type,3(15%) head teachers of M type, and7(35%) head teachers ofpm type out of the samples. The percentage of the best PM head teacher is not satisfying,and the performance and the maintenance of the teachers in the five-year vocationalschools is much worse than the ones in the middle schools from the same district.In order to enhance the reorganization of the head teachers and to perfect the classmanagement and guidance in the five-year vocational schools, the situation of theleadership behaviors of head teachers in those schools is fully acknowledged and analyzed.The research also uses the relevant leadership theory for reference to provide somesuggestions for class management, even some potential tendency to foster the leadership behavior of the head teachers.
