The city of Kunshan owns many foreign and domestic capital investments, therefore, it requires all kinds of industrial talents of vocational with special technology and English language abilities and English has become an important language tool to participate in the international communication and competitions in Kunshan. This means English language teaching in Secondary Vocational Schools should emphasis on the students' language abilities in the future, so as to match the need of the economic development and market economy. But the present English language teaching system is out of style and it can't meet the requirements of the new talents in new situation. It is common that students can't speak in English and understand others in Secondary Vocational Schools. How to improve the English teaching quality and the students' language abilities has become a big and emergent research topic.This thesis includes 4 chapters.The first chapter emphasizes the importance and necessity of this research topic by describing its background, the basic basement and the present situation on Vocational Schools in domestic and foreign countries.The second chapter introduces an investigation on English teaching in Secondary Vocational Schools in forms of questionnaire.Chapter 3 is the most important part in the paper, which according to the questionnaire's statistics, analyzes on the limitation and insufficiency in Second Vocational Schools in Kunshan. It also puts forward the strategies and approaches that will improve the English teaching quality in Secondary Vocational Schools. That means we must change the English thoughts, promote the English teaching evaluation systems, improve the students' individual characters, stimulate the motives of learningEnglish and develop the English teachers' abilities to research and teach.Chapter 4 is the last part of the paper. It presents the conclusions and reflections of the paper.
