Based on the questionnaire data of 566 waiters in Yangyuan community of Wuhan city, guiding with the social memory theory and the situation theory, and within the dualistic analysis frame, the thesis describes the identity on "peasant status"whose situation of time and space has been changed and tests some factors which might influence peasant workers'identification form their own perspective. The survey data shows that about twenty percent peasant workers refuse the "peasant status", nearly a half of the peasant workers accept it definitely, and the others are confusedly on the identity. More and more peasant workers are going to be a vague condition. The influential factors are: the settle will before outgoing, contact with mass media, occupations have done in the city, contentment with salary, family attitude to peasant workers in the city, time involved in agriculture production. These factors indicate that the hypotheses of countryside memory, outgoing expectation and urban experience are confirmed. That is to say, the deeper memory of the countryside, the more probability of the peasant workers accept the peasant status; Before going to town, the target is expected more clearly, the more probability of the peasant workers refuse the peasant status; The more actively of peasant workers'urban experience, the more probability of them refuse the peasant status; The more negatively of peasant workers'urban experience, the more probability of them accept the peasant status. Relatively, urban experience most affects peasant workers'identification. Nevertheless, demographic factors are not related to the self-identification of peasant workers.
