A Research On The Continuing Higher Education

With the acceleration of global economic integration and the arrival ofknowledge economy, the competition between countrys is becoming keener day byday.In the face of such challenges and accompanying opportunities, society shouldplace emphasis on the training of qualified personnel.Continuing education is acomprehensive term and has different undersdanding in different countries.Theconcept of continuing education is that continuing education is the education for thespecialist to renew the knowledge,to complete the knowledge constructure ,toimprove the ablity of innovation and specialized technology level and it is on thebasic of the regular education.In the current,continuing education has become the popular education guided bythe lifelong education including para-formal education, post-universityeducation,vocational training and one of the important part of the lifelong educationsystem.Because the obvious advantage of education resource, the university plays amain role in the field of continuing education.Compared with the universitycontinuing education in the developed countries,China has lots of problem needs to beresolved such as education idea,education institution,managermeng level,financialsupport etc.The author not only analyses the concept and the history of continuing education,but comparesand contrasts the similar concept of it,making it clear and accurate.On the basis of analysis of thecontinuing education home and overseas ,the author trys to find out the way to resolve theproblem and weakness and point out the trend in the future.By means of researching in both of history,the present situation,the trend as wellas some typical cases of continuing education in university, this dissertation willexplain development way of the continuing higher education in educationalactivities,systems,mechanisms and concept.The author emphasizes on the creation of theory and policy of the continuinghigher education and points out it must change the idea and thought to adapt to thesociety development.
