With absence of function, single form and one-sided content, the traditional students' assessment mode severely restricts the development of education. As a result, it will be discarded with the passing of time. Meanwhile, a new round of curriculum reform proposes the new education assessment system should be established to meet the needs of quality education and promote students' comprehensive development. It tends to make a breakthrough in the guiding ideology, principle, purpose, content and methods and so on.New physics course on the stage of basic education undertakes the historical mission of improving students' scientific attainment and all-round development. And the realization of course value and aim needs necessary good student assessment system. Through systematic analyses of basic theories of modern student assessment system and deep reflection of traditional student assessment system in Middle School physics teaching in China, this paper puts forward that development student assessment mode should be carried out in Middle School physics teaching, and also makes systematic research on the theory and practice of this assessment mode. This paper includes five parts. Chapter One presents problems, relative research trends at home and abroad, the purpose and meaning of research subject. On reflecting the traditional student assessment mode in Middle School physics teaching in China, Chapter Two definesdevelopment student assessment mode in Middle School physics teaching, and summarizes its fundamental features by comparing these two modes. Chapter Three gives a systematic statement of the theory basis of development student assessment mode. Chapter Four advances the principles of development student assessment index mode, designs the assessment index and system, and through analyses of typical cases introduces the application of the assessment system in Middle School physics teaching. Chapter Five sums up its achievements, weakness and difficulties met in the process of research. In the conclusion we have the prospects for the future of development student assessment mode.
