The elementary education curriculum reform includes the adjustment of curriculum structure, the formulation of curriculum standards, the development and use of curriculum resources and so on. The development and use of curriculum resources has become the important content, but teaching material is the most important curriculum resource in school and it becomes an important symbol of weighing a nation or area elementary education level. Therefore, strengthening the construction of the teaching material is especially urgent. In 2003 the country has promulgated "the Ordinary High school Geography Curriculum Standard (Experiment)". This has provided the basis for the high school geography teaching material compilation. Based on this, Beijing (published by people education publication and Beijing normal university), Hunan, Shandong successively published "Ordinary High school Curriculum Standard Experiment Textbook Geography", altogether four sets, which are published by people education publication , the Chinese map publication, the Hunan education publication as well as the Shandong education publication and those books are being practiced in the elementary education curriculum experimental plots (Guangdong, Hainan, Shandong as well as Ningxia).Based on other people' research results and reviewing our country geography teaching material evolving history, the present situation and the development tendency and guided by the theories of compiling the teaching material, the essay carries on the analysis of the integrality of these four kinds of high school geography teaching material with the high school geography curriculum standards from the choose of the teaching material ,the ways of study and the ways of evaluation of studies and so on ,which thoroughly compares these four kinds of high school geography teaching material (experiment) from the structure, the style and the surface layer system .The essay summarizes the characteristics based on the analysis of agreement with geography curriculum standards and the comparative research of the teaching materials, which points out that the surface layer system of the high school geography teaching material (experiment) should be strengthened . How to integrate the surface layer system of high school geography teaching material (experiment) is the core and conclusion of theessay ,which mainly has the following three aspects:(1) Points out the four big theories of conforming the surface layer system of the high school geography teaching material (experiment): Systems science theory, dissemination study theory, geography teaching psychology theory and high school geography new curriculum theory;(2) proposes the four big basic principles of conforming the surface layer system of the high school geography teaching material (experiment): Following the geography teaching discipline, achieving the three dimensional goals , displaying the integrity of the teaching material system and safeguarding the elasticity of the teaching material content;(3) from the aspect of psychology cognition process, the essay carries on the research of the integrality of the surface layer system of the high school geography teaching material (experiment) from three kinds of knowledge: the perceptual knowledge, the rational knowledge and the practical knowledge and draws the conclusion: using charts instead of article, asking questions according to the chart, grasping the geography perceptual knowledge, process inquiring, combining the articles and chart, cognizing geography rational knowledge;setting scenes, gaining geography practical knowledge.
