Analysis On The College Needy Students' Strategies To Poverty

With the enlarged enrollment in universities and the development in the reform of higher education tuition system, the phenomenon of college students from poor families has drawn wider attention and begun to become a hot topic in academic research. The thesis displays the college needy students' panorama of college life through the interviews. What's more, based on analyzing the characteristics in those needy students' life, the paper makes a tentative analysis on their strategies to poverty.The body of the thesis consists of four parts. To start with, the thesis draws an elaborate description of the college needy students' college life and their ways to overcome poverty. In the second part, on the basis of interviews, the author shows a determined faith that pressure, including poverty in economic, hardship in life and frailty in social support, is the most essential characteristic in those needy students' college life. After generalizing the characteristics, the third part is devoted to analyzing those needy students' basic strategies to poverty. The author of the thesis points out that habit and adaptation, growth and change, development and breakthrough are the three basic strategies to overcome poverty, for which self-solving tendency, reflection and opportunity are considered the key factors to make success. With regard to the turning point in college needy students' college life, in the last part of the thesis, the author justifies that the ease of economic pressure, influence of student leagues and positive self-evaluation can be treated as the turning points to get rid of the hardship in life, while the rolling advance between the turning points is the important mechanism for college needy students to get free from the hardship in life.The thesis, researching into college needy students' college life from the sociological perspective, has a certain practical significance on the construction of needy students' financial aid system and social support system. We deal with a variety of pressure in life. The research into the needy students in universities will enable us to make a deeper exploration in people's action and solving methods while the pressure strengthens continuously and even reaches out of the normal intensity.
