Objectives :Studies on mental health of university students to education of mental health. Study the relationship between mental health and parental rearing pattern of university students in order to make parents know how to teach their children , to make relationship well between parents and their children and to lead to well mental health of university students.Methods :Using EMBU, EPQ , TCSQ and SCL-90 to test 503 university students. Results:scl-90 score of university students are higher than normal score. Parents' over-protection, strict-punishment and refusal ordenial were correlated with mental health . Most part of factors of EMBU were correlated with P, N, E and L of EPQ. Negative trait coping style were positive correlated with Parents' strict-punishment and refusal ordenial . Negative trait coping style were negative correlated with Parents' warm-undesdanding. Parental rearing pattern were not notable difference except father' s strict-punishment to son and daughter , but correlation degree were not same, father' s strict-punishment, mother' s warm-undesdandingand over-protection were different between only child and several children.Conclusion:Mental health of Lanzhou university students were bad than normal score, we must develope our education of mental health . Parental Rearing Pattern is impotent to mental health and personality of University Students. The unhealthy parental rearing pattern had significant influence on the mental health of university students. The influence of parental rearing pattern on mental health was through tile role of personality treats and trait coping style. Parental rearing pattern were not notable difference between son and daughter, but make difference effect, son and daughter make choice to Parental rearing pattern.
