In recent years, the number of university students is increasing quickly .And there aremore and more differences among them in the terms of the knowledge experiences ,personality, physical fitness, sports technology . With the development of economy andsociety, new and higher requirements are demanded for the students of physical education. While, after the college course reform, volleyball hour decreases considerably. It is moredifficult for students to reach a certain technical level in limited course hour. Therefore, problems about how to considerate students' individual differences under the organizationalform of collective teaching, and how to cultivate their comprehensive capability of thestudents, become most concern for various sports courses in physical educationaldepartment. Thus, "teach the students how to learn" is taken into teaching plan, and"Self-regulated learning" is the theory that fits the requirement. This paper describes theback grounds on which this theory grew up, self-regulated learning's concept, and thedimensions of academic self-regulation. Based on the scales from abroad and native andlearning characteristics of physical educaion students, the questionnaire concerningSelf-regulated Learning of Physical Education Students in universities is proposed, Thisthesis takes the colledge school students as subjects, with an aim to measure theirself-regulated learning. This paper also tries to discuss the feasibility and efficiency of"self-regulated learning" in volleyball teaching, hoping to produce a new mode in the field. This text has used the law of documentary materials, data statistics, experts consult, questionnaire investigation, and teaching experiment. On the basis of former researches,The experimental research of "self-regulated learning" in volleyball teaching has beenfinished smoothly through cultivating the ability of students' self-regulated learning. All thedata are analyzed by the soft of SPSS12.0. The results of experiments are as follows:1.In sports learning ,there is gender difference in self-regulated learning. Male studentshave higher ability of self-regulation and are better at using it. Female students get muchimproved in self-regulated ability after the experimental teaching.2.There are different levels in the ability of the self-regulated learning to use thesedimensions, which make up of the self-regulated learning, to engage in the learning. Thestudents get highest score at motivation dimension, and lowest at the time dimension.through cultivating the ability of "Self-regulate learning", score higher at each dimension, especially female students. But they still don't do satisfactorily at time dimension, whichshows that physical education students can't monitor their study well.3.It is obvious that the result of the "self-regulated learning" teaching in volleyball coursesis superior to the routine teaching, it is feasible and efficient. The teaching can stimulate thestudents' initivate, and it make for cultivating the students' interest and the formation of thephysical education of liftime idea. It also cultivate students' better personality and enlightenthe students' potential.4.The teaching of "self-regulated learning" fully activates the students' thinking. It paysattention to improvement of learning method and the use of learning strategies, as well asstudents' self-evaluation and self-regulation, which enables students to obtain sportstechnology easily. there is higher value to popularize in the general volleyball courses inuniversity. The experimental reseaching of "self-regulate learning" is only tentative research ingeneral volleyball. Because of the limitation of conditions, It still needs further imprvomentin many aspects. While this paper affirms its advantages, it produces suggestions, aiming tobring implications for the popularization of "self-regulated learning" and development ofphysical teaching reform.
