In the information time, information literacy is the vital index of personnel's generalquality in the 21st century. The ability of acquiring knowledge, namely information'scollecting and processing ability has become the key one, which may be regarded as thepassport of personnel in the 21st century.With questionnaire method and the like, this paper dealt with the current state ofcollecting and processing ability of junior high school students, and analyzed thechannels of physics information collecting, the pattern of physics informationprocessing, the factors of influencing physics information collecting and processing,and the discrepancy of physics information collecting and processing among thestudents.The statistical results show that the main channels of physics information collectingare attending class and conducting experiment. The main patterns of dealing withphysical concepts and principles are listening, reading and writing. The investigationshows also that most students can master the correct method of managing note in theclass, but many students didn't know to how to learn.This paper dealt with the likes in the process of learning, and analyzed the influenceon information collecting and processing. The statistical results show that students likethe lecturing teaching style of concise and systematic, doing exercises after teaching,and their humorous lecturing style. Comparatively, they like flexible, practical andcooperative learning pattern. Most of students are short of knowledge and ability ofinformation technology, and they have a low level of information literacy. There is widediscrepancy between the teaching auxiliary methods often used by teachers and theteaching auxiliary methods loved by students.There is discrepancy of physics information collecting and processing among thestudents. The analysis to the ability test shows that the abilities of students to collect andprocess physics information by way of reading written language and image, yield resultby way of analyzing experimental data, and collect and process physics information byway of exploring experiments are different, and the test marks take on approximatenormal distribution, which is consistent with the reality of junior high school students.In a word, the results of this investigation will help physics teachers to maketeaching tactics and improve teaching quality.
