As time goes on,everybody gets the right to receive education and everybody needseducation.Education equality has become people's common understanding day by day.As aresult,the research on underachievers has been arousing general concerns in the circles ofeducation and psychology all along.The reasons for this matter are complicated.Research from western countries wasold-line.Instead,Chinese scholars began their study in the late eighties of twentiethcentury,even so,research production in our country is plentiful and substantial.however,theobjects which they studied has no more work on rural students.Therefore,my paper will takeup the problem of the underachievers in rural middle-school,mostly by means of survey polland qualitative research and literature research,form the investigation and analysis of theactualities of the underachievers in rural middle-school in our country,and by exploring theelements and factors that result in the difficulty and poor performance of theunderachievers,this paper strives for strategies for improvement so that a large number of thestudents can be transformed and their learning efficiency can be improved,moreover thispaper is also to provide reference for development of rural education.It is investigated that 80.95% of the teacher considers the proportion of theunderachievers in rural middle-school is 20%.This is a huge colony,which has a severeimpact on many aspects.Also,this paper summarized characters of underachiever in ruralmiddle-school,they are:low perform;idle;having less learning-interest;self-humiliation;beingshort of bearing and improper study-means,and so on.The elements and factors that result inthe difficulty and poor performance of the underachiever in rural middle-school,thoughmany,can be summarized in two ways:student's obstacle in mind and outer factors.Student'sobstacle in mind consists of self-contemptuous because of instability and study-wearinessbecause of having absent success experience.And the outer factors includes:administrantsystem only to tackle exam;ropy teacher;curricular system lacking of relevance;negativeeffect in the society.On the basis of this,the present paper put forward some strategies.In orderto get the underachievers out of difficulty,firstly,by inspiring their self-confidence,enhancingstudy interest,cultivating their ability of self-control,the teachers must help the studentsovercome self-contemptuous and study-weariness.Secondly,the teacher show properviewpoint of person with ability,and let the students know the purpose to study is to be aperson with ability,and not only to enter a higher school.Thirdly,the rural school must open upschool-based curricular and enhance relevance of the rural curricular,so that they can satisfythe students' needs.In addition,the parent and the school should enhance theircommunicates,only to built a nicer study atmosphere.In the end of this paper,the author indicate that Rome is not build in oneday,therefore,transforming them is not in one day.This job needs all kinds of people'sattention,understanding and help.
