Study On Woman's Education In The Initial Stages Of The Nationalist Government

This text investigates into the women's educational problem according to the time sequence in the early stage of the Republic of China. The text does research into women's education of this period with the change of the educational system as the clue. Combining the introspection into the history with the current situation, the text summarizes the enlightenment that the women's education of Republic of China has given to the contemporary educationalists our country. The thesis is divided into four parts:Part one: Excavate deep reasons that make the women's education develop so rapidly in the early time of the Republic of China. At this time, the government realized the importance of the women's education so that it supported and encouraged the development of women's education in such aspects as politics and economy; Because the western culture shock to the women's educational idea had brought about an advance in women's education and women's independent consciousness was being strengthened constantly, the western culture made the women's education get a considerable development.Part two: Explain the emergence,development,the course of the transmutation of the women's education of this period. It is the main part of the thesis. Through a large number of historical documents, this part reproduces the general picture of women's educational development of this time. This part mainly describes the preliminary development before the 1911 Revolution, the rise and fall during the Nanjing provisional government period and the overall open time of the May Fourth Movement. And in this part I also states school system and rules within these three historical periods, especially makes careful explanation to the rule of school system of the early time of the Republic of China.Part three: Analyzing the characteristic of the women's education of this period. They are: the coexisting of the twists, the gradual advancement and the sudden advancement; the characteristic of obvious Politicization and the development of the higher education.Part four: Summarizing the women's education of the initial time of the Republic of China and giving the historical experience offered for nowadays education.
