Courses and teaching evaluation reformation is an important component in the process of the curricula and teaching reformation, and guides and monitors the whole process. The grading system is an important component in the teaching evaluation system. It is a process during which students'conduct in the course of learning is affirmed by certain means based on a given criteria. Subjects of the grading system are the learning process and the results of students. Physical education (P.E.) grading is carried out with an integrated method of self-grading, group-grading and teacher's evaluation in accordance with requests in the related details, criteria, formats and field objectives in the P.E. curricula criteria, in view of students'physical and psychological traits, cognitive level and actual capacity. Teaching practice proves: an objective comment in time helps to enhance the college P.E. reformation and improve teaching. And, an improper evaluation is to affect the development of the college P.E. negatively.The Education Department issued the Compendium of the Physical Education Courses and Teaching Guidance for Colleges in 2002. It brings forward new requests for the college P.E. learning evaluation system and demands focus on students'learning attitude and emotional growth and gives prominence to the process of learning instead of classifying students and picking out the best for praise. However the Compendium restricts colleges while putting it into practice because it advances merely an idea about evaluation reformation but doesn't offer specific evaluation system and maneuverable index.The essay, making use of literature and data, quotes from experts, questionnaires, statistics, logical analysis and etc., researches the actuality of teaching evaluation theories and students grading system home and abroad and of the college P.E. grading system in Jilin Province and, under the guidance of the Compendium, designs a set of multiple subjects evaluation index and distribution capable of reflecting students integrated abilities development.The students grading index system, proposed in the essay, accords with the demands in the Compendium and is able to embody students'role as subjects in the process of physical education.
