This paper reports a research project which aims at probing into the teaching strategies of the multimedia assisted teaching in senior English Vocabulary teaching.First , it studies the definition of the multimedia assisted teaching , its origin ,developing process and its advantages compared to the traditional vocabulary teaching methods; Second , it covers the features and significance of vocabulary , as well as the present researches related to vocabulary ; Meanwhile, according to the constructivism , the report focuses on discovering a more efficient ,more systematic, and more acceptable way of teaching , following the principles of making CAI(Computing Assisted Instruction) and meanwhile supposes that the successful teaching result depends partly on a combination of the traditional classroom teaching and the balanced use of CAI, which serves as a solution to the key problems in Senior English vocabulary teaching .We take Teaching Experiment Approach as the main method to carry out the research. Choose 2 classes to assist in performing the teaching experiment. One class continues to adapt the traditional teaching method while the other the multimedia assisted teaching. First , divide the vocabulary into 5 categories (synonymy ; antonym; homophony; homomorphism; conjugate) Second, different strategies to different categories but to make the CAI visual, interesting, and systematic. The thorough strategies carried out in the experiment are as follows: Use picture-showing to differ some synonymies ; Use movie clip to learn some antonym; Use flash cartoon to create the mini-situation of homomorphism ;Use audio equipment to learn homophony; Use specific characters and design crossword to help students memorize the conjugates.As for the test of conclusion, another test was held after the experiment. After comparing and analyzing the test results, we can easily draw a conclusion that the multimedia assisted teaching in senior English Vocabulary teaching proves to be more valuable than the traditional teaching method . In order to gain full scale conclusion , questionnaires on the multimedia assisted teaching to teachers and students are both made, which further proves the acceptance and advantages of the multimedia assisted teaching approach .Based on the test and questionnaires, put forward some personal suggestions on the multimedia.
