Study On The Essay Reading Of Contemporary Chinese In Shanghai Entrance Examination In Recent 20 Years

The importance of the Entrance Examination is always a focus not only in school but also the whole society. Thereby the study of it values a lot in the teaching process. Reading of contemporary Chinese is a vital section of the examination, and it began to play a historial role in Shanghai from 1985. No doubt as the first part covering the most part of the paper, contemporary reading has gained great meaning in the test. This essay is based on the items selected from the papers in the recent 20 years, trying to acknowledge us some gains and losses of the test papers in Shanghai. What I aims at is to study some features of the contemporary Chinese reading and to state its tendency the development as well as the changes so that we may have a clear understanding on some means of analyzing the items by means of comparing with NMT(National Model Test), with some row materials from graduation test of senior school abroad. Meanwhile, we may reach a point what improvement the contemporary reading will take in the theory and practice.The thesis is composed of 4 chapters, including introduction of the essay reading of the entrance examination in Shanghai, the ideas of the essay reading designing the paper in Shanghai, the analysis of the papers and the feature possible development.
