The modern article reading is an important part of the College Entrance Examination. This thesis studies the modern article reading of the College Entrance Examination in Shanghai during the past 10 years, and analyzes the development of it.The thesis first of all takes a review of the exam questions development and the change of topic criteria from 2000 Shanghai Exam. the continuous improvement for perfection of "Course Standard"& "Examination Illustration" for the past ten years, setting the capability hierarchy of modern article reading. All of which makes the questions of modern article reading in Shanghai Examination standard gradually.Secondly, I took a detailed comparison in the paper in terms of the length, style, theme and value of the modern article reading for the last ten years. Pointing out the change regularity of theme selection, and the weak points as well.The paper follows with an analysis from three aspects of the exam questions of modern article reading in the recent ten years'Shanghai Exams. A. From the type and quantity:B. From measurement target and capability requirement; C. From the quality of the exam questions, which means the difficulty and separating capacity of the questions.Also, it focuses on the open questions of these ten years. Hence comes to the classification and conclusion. Meanwhile points out the weak points of open questions. Finally, the article makes a summary of the problems in modern article reading questions based on the recent ten years papers. Presents my personal views of strategies for improvement.
