Research On The Society Support System For Impoverished University Students In Fujian Province

Basing on the macroscopic background that Chinese society is making transition, bythe means of questionnaire investigation, case interview and document analysis, using theproblem of society operating and countermeasure analyses theory and method of sociologyand the society support theory, this research probes into the present situation of societysupport the construction of society support system for impoverished university students ofFujian Province.First of all, it analyses the basic situation of impoverished university students ofFujian Province and the reason of their production and also analyses the social state ofimpoverished student colony.Secondly, it analyses the current situation of society support for impoverishedstudents in Fujian Province. It also covers impoverished students' attitude andunderstanding of the current situation of society support. The existing problems of societysupport for impoverished students in Fujian Province are: first, student loans have policiesand system, but lack related laws and regulations to ensure credit and credit consumingmarket, and educational student loans lack pertinence and substantial results;second, theprobability that the impoverished student obtains the scholarship is relatively low;third,getting free subsidy apt to cause student psychological reliance sense and inertia in theaction;fourth, the inflexible teaching system of the school restricts students'work-for-study seriously at present;fifth, the subsidy behaviors of the various circles ofsociety are full of the secret worry;sixth, the material supports and supports failing tocombine with spirit organically.Thirdly, it carries on the comparison studies of the society support system for impoverishedstudents of the overseas university. The major ways of their support are charity funds and funds withspecial conditions with the patterns of "the free higher education adds the stipend pattern", Japan'scharge adds the student loans pattern, and USA'S mix pattern and cost shares pattern, etc.Basing on the situation of Fujian Province and the reality of the society support for impoverisheduniversity students, drawing lessons from abroad relatively mature society support mode forimpoverished students, this research puts forward the constructive suggestion in structuring societysupport system for impoverished university students: first, strengthening institutionalizationconstruction, constantly improving society support system;second, perfecting themechanism inside the university, opening up the way of helping students;third,strengthening the cooperation between bands and schools and pushing into and improvethe work of national student loans;forth, mobilizing social forces , caring about andsupporting the work to help impoverished students;fifth, insisting material support withspirit support on both hands and strengthening psychological help, etc.
