Subjective Well-being of teachers in the countryside is an important part of their work-life, and it is also an important guideline used to evaluate their quality of work-life. Paying attention to this theme, it is not only helpful to upgrade their quality of work-life, but improve the quality of rural education. Through qualitative interview, survey, spot observing and philology, the research investigates the current Subjective Well-being of teachers in seven rural schools in Hunan and another three rural schools in Guangdong. By way of exploring the current quality of work-life of the teachers' in the countryside, the research tries to find out the involved reason and the deep-seated problems in rural education. This research investigates one hundred and twenty-five and interviews ten teachers in the countryside. The analysis of the investigation shows:As a whole, the status of Subject Well-being of teachers in the countryside is not good;Subjective well-being of them is observably related to the atmosphere of the schools, feeling of achievement, personal development opportunities provided by their organization, the economic condition of their families, motivity that drives them into teaching work-life, their attitude toward and value view on their vocation, their view on happiness and so on. The major factors that bring them Subject Well-being are: students' love and attaching to the teachers, being praised and sustained by principals, successes at work, supported and understood by the parents of their students. Which deprive them of their Subject Well-being are: difficulties in rural schools, hard work but low payment, beingloaded down with trivial details, being misunderstood by students' parents, disharmony in the relation in schools, lack of safety and stabilization in work-life and so on. The lose of Subject Well-being is also due to teachers' blunt sensitivity to Subject Well-being, educational executives' neglect toward teachers vocational life, and the lack of humanistic spirit of the whole society.
