The author, a middle school teacher of fine arts, after synchronic and diachronic comparison, finds that the once well-recognized watercolor knowledge system seems to be weakene'd in textbook and the teaching of watercolor painting seems inappropriate under the background of advocating quality education and course reformation.As a postgraduate majored in watercolor painting as well as a middle school teacher of arts, the author, after personal teaching practice and communication with colleagues, finds proper adoption of teaching arts in middle school watercolor painting can help the teacher show the form of artistic beauty, transmit the nature of beauty to the students and appreciate beauty, reflect beauty together with them. Therefore, it is of great importance to follow the characteristic of beauty appr —eciation, add appreciative and artistic elements in teaching of watercolor painting and by inspiring and enhancing stu— dents' sense of beauty as well as their joviality in beauty appreciation try to achieve the best educating and teaching effect with various methods and strategies.This paper discusses teaching arts in middle schoolwatercolor painting in three parts. The first part advances the artistic elements in teaching contents of middle school watercolor painting. The second part explores the artistic elements in teaching methods of watercolor painting which includes five aspects in the following: scene design, thought innovation, feeling cultivation, colorful teaching language and clearness. The third part deals with artistic elements in teaching effect and evaluation. The paper combines various ways of giving examples, demonstration, analysis, survey, literature review with teaching cases and respective teaching achievement, and tries to provide a way of course reformation in arts for reference in the hope that teaching arts should be emphasized in the teaching of middle school watercolor painting. At the same, it makes an attempt to enrich teaching theories of arts and speedup the development of the entire arts education. |
