The aim of this thesis is to look for a new way to reform senior mathematics teaching under the new course standard. This is done by investigating the function orientation, the characteristics implementation strategies and the mode of investigative learning.The whole thesis is constituted by four parts.The first part generalizes the function value, the characteristics and the theoretic foundation of mathematics teaching. In this part, the dual function of the investigative learning, three characteristics and the concept of investigative learning in mathematics teaching are introduced. Besides, the theoretical foundation of mathematics teaching based on philosophy, psychology and pedagogy are elaborated.The second part is to explain how to implement by teaching practice, strategies for opening a way to investigative learning in mathematics teaching: correct understanding is the foundation of the steps, choosing a right topic is the key, the research process is the point.The third part explains the operation mode and the effect in the fulfillment with several concrete examples: the first one is to permeate the investigative learning in classroom teaching;the second one is to combine it with the social practice;the third one is to combine the open mathematics teaching.The fourth part puts forward some ideas on implementing the investigative learning.
