A Comparing Research On The Information Divide Problem Between Laid-offs And Peasant Workers

In information society, information divide, as an objective social fact, has become an increasingly serious social problem. Titled as "A Comparing Research on the Information Division Problem between Laid-offs and Peasant workers", this paper has investigated 100 laid-offs and 100 peasant workers as well as employment agencies in Changsha, so as to demonstrate the phenomenon of information divide between laid-offs and peasant workers on information discerning ability, means of getting information and information consumption. And this paper explains this result from the aspects of information distribution, ability of information bodies, information circumstances, family information condition, information consciousness and attitude etc., and argues that laid-offs are superior to peasant workers in terms of information, and further discusses social stratification, worker-peasant difference and city-country difference between them. Additionally, "scarcity of peasant workers" and new countryside construction are discussed here from the view of information.The main conclusion drawn in this paper is that: the difference of information distribution, ability of information bodies, information circumstances, family information conditions, information consciousness and attitude leads to the problem of information divide between laid-offs and peasant workers, and laid-offs are prior to peasant workers on information. According to this conclusion, and through the discussion on the dividing order of the last two classes of Pro.Lu Xueyi's theory of ten classes from the view of information, this paper argues that inequality of this information situation has influenced their social class, and the social class of laid-offs should be superior to that of peasant workers, and more than peasants'. This paper has discussed the current phenomenon of city-country difference and worker-peasant difference from the aspect ofinformation, and thinks that there is also information divide between them. Further more, this paper has made a re-understanding on "scarcity of peasant workers" and the construction of new countryside, and considers that "scarcity of peasant workers" has the problem of relativity and itself is a contradiction, while the construction of new countryside is the best method to tackle the problem of "scarcity of peasant workers" and lower information quality of peasant groups.The research significance of this paper lies in as follows: 1) Offering reference for relevant scholars on related researches;2) Providing concrete positive material for researches on city-country difference, on information divide and two major groups;3) Providing reference for the efforts on reducing city-country difference and information divide in China especially in Changsha.
