Chen Heqin, the founder of psychology and children pedagogy in China, is honored to be "China's Froebel"and "Father of the Chinese preschool education".The children's family education thoughts is the important constituent of Chen Heqin's educational ideological system. Family Education Published in 1925, is a rare bestseller on family education in China, and has had great influence on China's family education, especially preschool children's family education.Chen Heqin is the pioneer of modem family education, but the research and probe in his children's family education lacks much concern in academic circles over a long period of time. This article is intended to take Mr. Chen Heqin's "Family Education" as the main viewpoint, the ages of the research objects limiting from infant to the school age —seven years old, and is spread from the background, the main contents, the characteristics and the valuation, related to the Chen Heqin's family education thoughts.First, the background of the children's family education. From the following four aspects we have realized that its thoughts is the fusion of East and West, and ,it is the education that can save the nation;the growth environment of family background is the foundation of the sprout;resolving that education can only save our nation is a formative stance of the formation of the thoughts;having studied in the United states has provided the scientific methods and the theory and practice when returned to homeland causes the thoughts to form.Second, the contents of the children family education thoughts. It has four branches, including that the education according to children's psychological characteristics and the theory of education;the proposal of children's education principle and the scientific methods with Chinese characteristics;advocating the educational principle from every aspect, emphasizing the important function of the parents especially the mother's education. These four points has established the scientific, modem system of the children educational theory, constructed an integral educational structure system for Chinese children.Third, the characteristics of the children family education thoughts. It displays in: manifesting "Seek truth from the facts" and the spirit of innovation;the unification of thenational destiny and the nation future;explaining the complicated in plain words and paying attention to give examples;manifesting strongly that it is operational and controllable;Paying attention to the educational systematic theory, especially the function of the environment.Fourth, the appraisal of the individual and its children's family education thoughts, "the life-long pursuer of the children education" is people's appraisal for him;"Advance with times, and never to be obsolete" is the appraisal for his children family education. Meanwhile, combining the mistaken ideas in the present family education to probe Chen Heqin and the research of his thoughts has much influence on the growth of the juvenile, on the realistic significance of concern of a harmonious society.
