This thesis discusses"problems', "maths problems"and "problems solving",tries to show that discovering problems is the beginning of thinking, solving problems is the destination of thinking, and math is the gymnastics of thinking. In order to improve students' maths quality, we need to put "knowledge" into "problems", into certain situations .Through collecting information , analyzing information, handing information and making use of information, student can explore, discover, and solve problems initiatively, and therefore their ability to acquire new knowledge and use new knowledge to innovate is improved.The problems in present primary school text books are closed type or halfclosed type and are called conventional problems. However "the problems" in "problems solving" are different from conventional problems .Their goal is to promote students to innovate, and they are practical open, developing and productive, so teachers should put knowledge into problems in their normal teaching, and create good maths problems through transforming examples and exercises.At present, "problems solving" in maths teaching is paid much attention to both at home and abroad, and in teaching reform, a series of new achievements, new patterns emerge. Traditional teaching method helps to learn maths systematically, and the new teaching method focuses on thinking techniques as well as students' innovation and character training. Both have advantages and disadvantages, From single to diversity is a obvious tendency in modern teaching. In recent years, western maths teaching theories have been brought in and maths teaching presents a tendency to diversity and comprehensiveness.
