Using the self-made questionnaire for university-faculty-job-satisfaction, the author investigates 228 university faculties in the two cities of Wuhan and Zhengzhou. The results are as follows:(1) University faculties are, in general, satisfied with their jobs, but they are dissatisfied with their income, university leadership and management, working relationships and work itself.(2) To sex, male faculties are more satisfied with work itself than female. On other aspects, not much difference has been found.(3) To age, there is no obvious difference with the exception of working relationships.(4) To academic titles, faculties, with the promotion of their academic titles, have increased a little bit satisfaction with their jobs on the whole. With the exception of the total satisfaction and the satisfaction with university leadership and management, not much difference has been found each two factors.(5) To marriage, with the exception of work itself, not so much difference has been found.(6) To major, with the exception of the total satisfaction and the satisfaction with university leadership and management, not much difference has been found between the faculties of arts and those of science and engineering.(7) To education, the faculties with master degree and its candidates are more satisfied with their jobs than those with bachelor degree and others. On other aspects, not much difference has been found.(8) Significant correlation doesn't exist between job satisfaction and individual background variables, such as sex, age, and academic title, etc. But the significant correlation exists among marriage, education and income. The remarkable correlation exists among academic title, major and working relationships. The significant correlation exists between major and work itself.(9) On the basis of the standardized partial regression coefficients of variables in the model, income has affected most on the job satisfaction;the following are university leadership and management, marriage and major.Based on the above results, the author makes the following suggestions: reinforcing the reform of distribution system, increasing faculties' income, providing more opportunities for faculties' participating in the management, promoting the democratic management in universities, creating proper conditions for faculties' work, facilitatingfaculties' professional development, learning more about faculties' psychological contract, improving their psych-cognitive ability, constructing the system of faculties' overall-processed management in order to make faculties more satisfied with their jobs.
