Study On Sports Population In Wuhan

The investigating objects were 5200 homes of Wuhan. By the methods of investigation, comparison visit and discussion. It analyzed the rate of national residents' participation in sports, different sports occasions and ways, motivations and consumptions on sports, comparing the situation of participation in sport in city and country. It also compared this investigation and that of 1997 and 2001 in vertical and horizontal ways. This paper's investigating subject was the attempt to know the present problems and basic characteristics, and provide some importuned reframes for Wuhan city's development.The results indicated the development of mass fitness in Wuhan was healthy and active: The sport population had reached 45.4% the choice of exercise occasions was wide, the sport items were colorful, the way of participating in sport were free and the perceptions on sport changed into rational.At the same time, there were some problems in Wuhan residents participating in sport as follows: 1, Men were more than women, the youth and the elderly were more than the middle ago of adult. 2, The contradiction existed between the supply and need for exercise space, especially the public occasions couldn't fit for the need. 3, The major way of participating in sport were free combination and personal exercise, lacking of organization and stability. 4, The residents lacked the knowledge of sport social instructors and the needs was not high.The results indicated that the major factors affecting residents participating in sport were personal and social factors.The social factors included exercise space and tools, social regulations, social sports instructors.At the end this paper proposed countermeasures correspondingly...
