Textbooks as the materializing stuff are very important to convey the knowledge, socialize the individual and develop students. In terms of the idea on "international insight, national action", it will enlighten us on making a more practical and more updated textbook through the analysis of the textbook Science Focus.The thesis consists of four parts. In part I, it shows clearly the reason and significance of selecting this topic. Now, most of the country over the world have implemented science curriculum. Under this background and considering the status quo of the present science textbooks in our country, it will stimulate our reform of science textbook being performed in junior high school through the analysis of the science textbook of Australia.Part II analyzes the general situation of the science education in Australia as the background of Science Focus. And then introduces Science Years 7-10 Syllabus set by the Board of Studies NSW, which is the basis of Science Focus.Part III is the analysis on Science Focus. The thesis describes the general picture and features of Science Focus, and then analyses the framework, the content of episteme, student activities and other contents concretely.Last, on the basis of analysis and research on Science Focus, the thesis gives some advice to the compilation of science textbook. Such as design the extent and deepness of content rationally; unify the scientificity and acceptability; increase the number of the exercises and enhance the degree of opening; perfect the resource related to the textbook; attach importance to the study of science language; strengthen the training of literacy; incarnate Chinese characteristic.
