The Meaning Of Traditional Filial Piety Culture To The Supporting Parents In Current Cities And Reconstruction

As is shown in the fifth census, the population of the old people in China has been up to 130,000,000. It means that supporting parents is becoming a stern problem confronting China. Because of the difference between urban and rural areas, this thesis selects the supporting parents of cities as the reseach object and explores the difficult position in the spirit, the life care and the economy which cities face by the much empirical investigation and analysis. The traditional culture of filial piety leads a important role and produces great influence on solving the difficult position. Traditional filial piety culture regards supporting parents, respecting the olders and the reverence for elders as its foundation meaning. So, it provides the people with selected concept resources to kindly handle the parents and the old persons.The thesis proves the realistic meaning of the traditional filial piety culture to the supporting parents in the present cities. Meanwhile, the thesis attempts to construct a kind of modern filial piety culture suitable for aging society according to the changes of the times and the demand for supporting parents on the base of organizing and carrying on traditional filial piety culture. On the base of the empirical survey and research of the contemporary people's views of filial piety culture, the author proposes that the construction of modern filial piety culture should refleQt the ethics essences of paying equal attention to filial piety and kindness and realize the transformation from matter support to spritual support and promotion of filial piety culture from the family ethics to the social ehtics .In addition, it advocates that the olders should goad themselves and support themselves.The characteristics of this thesis lie in that it connects the traditional filial piety culture with the reality of supporting parents to promote characteristics construction of modern filial piety culture, the angle of research in the thesis has a distinctive mark of its own.
