Teaching can not get away from the art, it was indicated by many studies andpractices of the modern teaching theories. If you want to acquire the best effect of teaching,you must be particular about its art. Therefore, teaching art was attached importance moreand more.This study uses some methodology of research, such as, document, history, andtheoretical analysis. By investigating teaching of the four greatest Learning Academies ofNan Song, with representative of the Hole of White Deer, Yue Lu, the Mountain ofElephant and Li Ze, the paper discusses their thought of teaching art and teaching schoolsand announces their abundant experiences and technique from their long-term practice. Itwill certainly provide theoretical guidance and reference for higher education of thepresent time.The paper contains three parts.The first part analyzes the historical conditions and cause of formation of teachingart. It suggests that the civilization background of social is the prosperity of LearningAcademy and the establishment of its educational system. The complete system ofConfucian philosophical school and teaching of emphasizing dependence and create are itsthought foundation. Independent learning study and schools are its learning foundation.The second part is a core content, demonstrates detailed that the teaching art andthought of Learning Academies during the period of Nan Song. From the angle of beautyappreciation, the teaching art and thought can be concluded five aspects, graceful andeasily teaching environment, scientific and profound teaching content, diversified teachingmethod, manner of pursue studies of incorporating things of diverse nature and seekingcommon ground while reserving differences, and utterly different teaching style, etc..The third part discusses enlightening of teaching art of Nan Song's LearningAcademy to reform contemporary higher education, such as, the mode of teaching combinetogether research, the special feature of uniting teaching and virtue, teaching method ofself-educated and guidance, and academic atmosphere of famous teacher. All abovedeserve us to consider.
