Construction And Application Of Task-based Teaching & Learning Model In Secondary School Reading Classroom

The teacher-centered model of teaching that pays too much attention to teaching simply the knowledge from textbooks should be altered in class teaching and Task-based Language Teaching should be adopted as far as possible, according to the newly-published Standards of English Courses. Advocating the Task-based Language Teaching means fulfilling the cultivation of the ability to apply languages comprehensively in the course of teaching. The studying model of experiencing, practicing, participating, communicating and cooperating should be altered in order to achieve the goal of tasks and feel the success. Besides, it puts a lot of emphasis on students'ability to take advantage of English to do something and suggests teachers'adopting the Task-based Language Teaching as far as possible instead of teaching language knowledge alone so that students are not only able to pick up the language also communicate by means of languages while completing tasks. Reading ,as a main way for people to acquire information ,study and entertain. What is more, It accounts for a relatively greater part in all kinds of language tests. Whether you do well in reading has become one of the standards to test the language level of learners, GET,TOEFL,PET, for example. The author finds out that reading is still the weak link of students in English studying on the basis of many years'experience of teaching. However, traditional reading classes are often boring, so the problem that how we should arouse students'internal demand, create an excellent teaching situation to develop the language and thinking ability along with the character of main body effectively with the reading ability developed at the same time has been discussing. The research has applied the concept of Task-based Language Teaching to the English teaching of reading and come up with the general thinking of designing as well as detailed improved measures of Task-based Language Teaching by analyzing the definition , application of the theory of Task-based Language Teaching.
