Art activities are important self-expressions for young children and an indispensable aspect in their overall development. In art activities, they can express their feelings and emotions in the art forms they like. Through learning in art activities, young children can develop their ability in aesthetic reception, expression and creation, which may encourage them to become interested and then love art activities and lay a foundation for their further studies of arts in the future. Art education activities, therefore, play an indispensable role in aesthetic and emotion education and in promoting development of their personality. Whether art activities can thrive in a kindergarten, to a large extent, depends on the designing of these activities. Starting from a study of designing of art education activities in kindergartens, the present thesis makes an analysis of problems in art activities in kindergartens, proposes some principles guiding such designing, and strategies for such designing from the perspective of designing of art education curriculums in kindergartens.The present thesis consists of four parts: Part One offers an analysis of the direction of reform from separate individual types into a comprehensive, all-embracing type of art education activities in kindergartens, and, based on this analysis, the author points out the fact that the traditional separate forms of art activities is not conducive to cultivating comprehensive and integrated personality, while the comprehensive form is not only an important experience in the reform of art education courses in various countries, but is also the inevitable trend of development in art activities in kindergartens.
