A Research On Inquiry Study In Mathematics Learning In Middle Schools

Inquiry study is one important approach that the new curriculum reform of basic education advocates. Since mathematics has a wide application and is scientifically logical, inquiry study is an appropriate way in the teaching of mathematics. In the current reform of new curriculum, there are many researches on inquiry study on a general scale. But when concerning about a specific subject, such as mathematics, the researches on inquiry study are still quite insufficient. Therefore, I try to probe into inquiry study in learning mathematics in middle schools from theoretical and practical aspects.The dissertation is divided into five parts.In the first part, the basic conception about inquiry study is discussed. This part is contributed to the probe into the history, the development, the connotation and the unique value of inquiry study. Meanwhile, the relationship between inquiry study and inquiry teaching is expounded here.The second part focuses on the status in quo of the research, the essence and the characteristics of inquiry study in the teaching and learning of mathematics in middle schools. First of all, I present the researches on this aspect in the field of theory and actual practice.
