With the development of mathematics curriculum reform in different countries in recent years, mathematics study began to foucs on practice operation, active inquiry and cooperation communication. Therefore, mathematics inquiry activity is especially important in mathematics teaching, we should pay more attention to cultivating students’ spirit of exploring and innovation, application consciousness and comprehensive practice ability. By comparing different versions of exploration in the teaching material content may absorb their respective advantages and constantly promote the reform of teaching material and the progress of teachingStarted with the research background and problem, this paper clarifies the reason and the significance of this study. Then it defines mathematics inquiry, textbooks comparison and makes a view of the research contents of this paper. By establishing teaching material analysis framework, this paper compared and analyzed the content for inquiry in these two sets of teaching materials, we have found the similarities and differences in terms of presentation and organization form: mathematical inquiry columns arrangement and inquiry numbers are different, content location and function are different, types and organizational forms are different, situation and question sentence are the same, and the cognitive levels are the same. Based on the comparative analysis of the similarities and differences between the two sets of textbooks, this paper proposed some targeted recommendations. We need to add appropriate situation type, pay more attention to the cooperation of the groups of mathematical inquiry and comprehensive practice, balance the types of knowledge in mathematics investigates, enhance cognitive level of content for inquiry as well as highly value the application of auxiliary resource. I hope this thesis can be helpful to Chinese junior mathematics research and teaching material, and improve the exploring consciousness and ability of students.
