Content: Secondary vocational education, an important component of educational system in China, has trained a great number of primary and skilled talented people for many years. In recent years, the problems confronted with secondary vocational education such as employment difficulty, student source divergence, and inactive system have fully come out as national macroeconomic system has transformed. Meanwhile, the development of economy and society, the goal of full employment, and elevation of national scientific and cultural level have raised higher requirement for secondary vocational education and opened good opportunities and broader spaces to secondary vocational education.Based on its current reality, the policies and measures should be taken to speed up the development of secondary vocational education: First, define education goal in the three aspects of level, subject, and classification; Secondly, set up the subjects of secondary vocational education asked by market to meet need of local characteristics, flexibility, practical applicability, and compound of secondary vocational education; Thirdly, establish development mechanism of courses of secondary vocational education that shows the orientation of employment market; Fourthly, aggressively promote creative education with the contents of innovative awareness, spirit of starting a business, and skill development; Fifthly, fulfill good connection between secondary vocational education and advanced vocational education to push the desirable development of secondary vocational education.
