1A3P Classroom English Teaching Model is constructed in response to the educational goal that school teaching should be focused on the lifelong development of the learners, and equal attention is supposed to be paid to the cultivation of knowledge, competence and personality. The training of meta-cognitive skill in the classroom teaching features 1A3P Teaching Model, which aims to enable the average as well as slower learners to recover from lower motivation and ignorance of learning strategies, thus regaining their confidence in learning English successfully.The paper begins with a general analysis of the current situation of English teaching in the average middle schools. Then a brief review of some foreign languages teaching models at home and abroad is given. The principle, the mode and the design of 1A3P model are illustrated in detail, followed by the introduction of some relevant theories. Next, the requirements of its application are listed together with some samples of a variety of lesson plans. Finally, the process of the model experiment carried out in practice is presented with a detailed analysis of the research result as well as some reflection upon the experiment after the research.1A3P Teaching Model lays great emphasis on the appropriate combination of being teacher-directed as well as learner-centered in the classroom teaching. Meanwhile, learning strategies such as self-assessment and self-regulation are highlighted in the process of language teaching. The outcome of the field research indicates that 1A3P teaching model is workable and of practical significance, which is believed to be not only helpful to learners' present learning, but also beneficial to their future life.
