Along with the development of global economy, our country put more emphasis on English teaching. English communication ability is the important condition of our country’s talents to go onto the world stage. However, there has been all sorts of problems with Middle and primary school English teaching in China, such as there obviously exam-oriented tendency, great attention to the overall not individual differences, neglect of practical application, making our country elementary and middle school students English level to present the current situation of "dumb English". Under this background, the flipped classroom model (FCM) as a new concept of education is becoming a hot spot of education research in recent years. Flipped classroom model is a new teaching model using modern network technology and teaching resources to rebuild teaching procedures. It reverses the two stages of knowledge instruction and knowledge internalization in the traditional classroom, which has realized the teacher-student interactive classroom teaching model. This paper studied the application of FCM in rural primary school English classroom teaching and put forward the feasibility and challenges of using. It tries to build FCM which confirms to the characteristics of rural primary school English teaching classroom, in order to provide some valuable reference at some level to the revolution of New Curriculum primary school English teaching.This thesis includes six chapters:In chapter one and chapter two the author took a brief overview about the importance of English, the situation of rural primary school English teaching, the application of FCM and introduce the research content and method through the literature research. Through literature comparison, the author analyzed the content and the object of related papers, depended on the basis of these content to elaborated the overseas and domestic research actualities and the concept of FCM and given an overview of the FCM through the situation of primary school English teaching and the application of FCM, which took a necessity analysis about the FCM applied in the Primary English courses.In chapter three, it stated the basis of FCM which is blended learning theory. This section summarizes the origin and development of blended learning theory, and its definition & application status and how it worked in FCM.In chapter four, the author mainly describes instructional design theories and teaching case design of FCM in Primary school English classroom teaching. FCM teaching design theory mainly includes the dissemination theory, learning theory and teaching theory, in addition the author summarized 5 relevant principles. According to above theories draw the reverse flow chart of the classroom teaching practice. Before start the application of FCM, the author used questionnaire survey to analyze learner characteristics, the selection of the subjects of English curriculum view, the current teachers’ teaching methods and learning environment, experiment content and so on. On this basis, the primary school English FCM case design includes the design of the teaching content, teaching material development, the design of classroom teaching activities, classroom teaching process design and the design of evaluation index.In chapter five, it mainly describes the teaching practice and implementation result of author’s FCM practicing in class two, grade three. First to design learning platform, using QQ software as students’ FCM learning and communication platform which is widely used. Then turns to English classroom implementation, including students’ autonomous learning and teachers’ class teaching two aspects. At last is result evaluation including the students’ self-study evaluation, students’ classroom performance evaluation, and the result of the questionnaire analysis. From the results of the questionnaire, author mainly analyze the experimental group students’ learning effects from the knowledge level, degree of problem solving, the use of class time, task completion.In chapter six, the author discussed the advantages and limitations of the FCM and analyzed the shortages of the teaching experiment combined with, then put forward the prospects for the development of the FCM in the field of our nation’s education.
