The STS education, namely science, technique and social education, is a kind of new scientific teaching method, which is formed in the reform of international science education in resent years. It is a kind of scientific education, which is organized and carried out with the instruction that emphasizes the relationship between science, technique and society and the use of science, technique in social production, life and development. Its basic spirit is: to let science education to make a decision for the development of the current social production and life. As a suitable way of the revolution of science education, it has been accepted by many peoplewho work in the field. This article aims to explore the important part------"Double-base" on high school chemistry education. On one hand, by researching the creation, development and practice of the STS education, it has point out a new teaching way of organic syncretism about STSeducation with high school chemistry education------ STS teaching method.On the other hand, by analyzing the condition of chemistry education in China, we think that it is fit for the reform of chemistry teaching. Classroom teaching is the main way to teach chemistry in high school, it usually bases on the knowledge of "Double-base".With the directing of the STS teaching thought, the "Double-base" has changed the conclusion to the dynamic process in chemistry, and made the knowledge no longer a burden of remembering mechanically, but a tool to resolve practical problems; and it has also made study no longer the process of passive acceptance, but a process of building knowledge actively, at the same time, it can experience the positive scientific attitudes, the indomitable scientific spirits, the advanced scientific methods as well as the positive value view. Finally, it can enlarge and enrich the connotation of the "Double-base" knowledge, make the gap between chemistry and science, Technique, society closer; make the students be more interested in chemistry learning, and help the students from the ability to analyze and resolve practical problems. Because of the directing of STS teaching thought, the "Double-base" has had a rapid progress in its nature, and the chemistry education in middle school will also turn to a new leaf.
