"How to increase students' intellect and ability in teaching?" "How to improve teaching quality and lighten students' overburden?" Nowadays, innovation education, stimulating students' innovation spirits, is prevailing .To cultivate thought characters of students is effective means of dealing with both questions. Thought characters represent thinking ability. Research of middle school students' thought characters will verify the maturation of their thinking ability and substantiate the difference of individual thought level, intellect and ability. Thought characters include five aspects: profundity, agility, criticism, originality and celerity, which describe thought characters from different aspects. Profundity embodies the deepness of thought. Agility reflects variety of thought. Criticism shows independence of thought. Originality embodies novelty of thought. Celerity reflects velocity of thought. These five aspects interact with each other and form integrity.Whereas, the author sets up such program to demonstrate the significance of cultivation of students' thought characters and to make clear the development of students' thought characters. Analysis is carried out for the exterior specialties of students' thought characters according to the individual difference. Then strategy of students' thought characters cultivation in chemistry teaching is projected. At last the actuality of students' thought characters in learning chemistry and the effect of the strategy are investigated through questionnaire. Based on this, the author mentions of some points.To cultivate students'thought characters in learning chemistry, we should learn about the exterior representation specialties of it chiefly.
