| In the recent twenty years, the reform of Chinese teaching has been vigorously going on. Of the several areas of teaching, the reform of classical Chinese appears relatively"cooler", compared with"modern Chinese"and"writing". For many years, classical Chinese teaching has only one fixed mode: It is the teachers who always dose the translation word by word and sentence by sentence and also introduces some difficult or easy knowledge of classical Chinese. The aim of the teaching is to make do with the examinations and to pursue some kind of ready—made and definite knowledge. Its goal is to understand its ultimate meaning. Classical Chinese. As a special cultural medium, bears the weight of the extensive and profound civilization of Chinese peoples. No double it should be passed down from generation to generation. The high school Chinese teaching is of course not wholly responsible for the protection and inheritage of the traditional culture under the background of multi-culture, but it is duty-bound for them to train the learners'Chinese accomplishment by bringing classical works into full play.Facing the shock of the values of many cultures, if classical Chinese teaching were to proceed smoothly, the key is that we should realize its significance of teaching from a higher position. Our ancient culture legacies are mainly recorded by classical Chinese, and were passed down till today. That is the historical achievement of classical Chinese. Also it is our purpose and starting point of learning it. What's more, because there's an inherited relationship between modern Chinese and classical Chinese, mastery of classical Chinese is a great help to analyze and recognize some language phenomena in modern Chinese. Thus, the learners'level of modern Chinesecan be improved.Because of the above reasons, we`ve made an analysis of the pecularity of classical Chinese teaching and purposefully put forward two"values"in classical Chinese teaching: 1. to value"chanting"; 2. to value"accummulatinp"."Chanting", as a traditional practice, which is suitable for both classical and modern Chinese teaching, conforms to the law of Chinese language learning itself. And it`s especially so for the former. Reading more and reciting more are to increase the perceptual knowledge of classical Chinese . So that they can make up for its relative inadequacy of not able to be frequently used as a communicative language. Classical Chinese, because it is age-old, will definitely make it difficult to read. Therefore, reading aloud will help the readers to make a conversation with the text, and be beneficial for the research and understanding ,too. Moreover, it can help train the sense of the ancient language. So that learners can master the usuage of its"function words". The learning of classical Chinese should also attach great importance to"accumulation."Only a definite amount of accumulation of classical words and cultural knowledge, mastery of some useful commonly-used drills and special patterns and mastery of features of pasts of speech can we lay some foundation for knowing more from one instance.After knowing the particularity of classical Chinese teaching and the two"values", teachers should make great effort to increase the efficiency of classroom teaching . Firstly , the teaching focus of classic teaching should be shifted. Secondly, students should be made to be active in class and become the main roles of the class. Thirdly, a good learning habit of classical Chinese should be formed. Although many ways can make the students` be active in classical Chinese language teaching, there is only one purpose, that is , to increase the students` enthusiasm of thinking independently and learning actively. Teachers should free students from the misconcept of"only but notlearning"and"reciting only but not thinking". Let them master the basic ability of reading the ancient language, thus to develop their conscious creativity of and to train their ability of using their hands and heads. So that Classical Chinese can set out of the low-valid embarrassment and be truly"active"to realize the goal of quality education. |
