Mass Media And Juvenile Delinquency

Media is a unique culture phenomenon that human society possess, it is the means to carry on culture and the way people acquire information. During 300 years of history , the traditional mass media has undergone a change from newspaper,magazine to movie and television , meanwhile, the way people get information has change from reading to multimedia which encompass seeing and hearing. Since the first computer was invented in 1940s, the computer science and the internet has developed rapidly .A responsible media is good to the maturing of young minds ,through which to guarantee young people development in a healthy way . because the culture is so diversified , the information of the media carries includes something positive ,something negative and harmful .the latter can't be neglected in any ways for the destructive effect it has on the modern society can't be very serious .Young people are easily influenced by the publications, the magazines, the movies, the television shows at a time when they aren't growing physiologically and psychologically. Frequently seeing the video recording,books,magazines and networks that have pornography and the violent contents cause the young people to pursue constantly stimulates, loses will, commits crime. It is the young people worker's duty and responsibility to guide the young people and prevent them from the influence of bad media and from committing crimes.The thesis divides into four chapters. First chapter deal with the concept, classification ,development course of mass media, The second chapter elaborate on the positive and the negative influence that media possibly have on young people .through the way of theoretical analysis and the real diagnosis analysis , the author explains the possibility cause between the Juvenile Delinquency and the media. The third chapter explored into the relevance between media and the Juvenile Delinquency. Study on analysis of the relevant theory that crime scientists and sociologists in various countries have made. .The fourth chapter proposed the countermeasures resisting malignant media, including two major parts ,control of the mass media itself and control of the young people, and proposed the corresponding countermeasures separately.The author have carried on investigation on the possibility cause between the Juvenile Delinquency and the media and has consulted and analysed and researched extensively to relevant materials and documents. On the basis of this I have finished the thesis under the guidance of my totur.
