An unanimous understanding seems to be acquired as to the relationship between education and people's nature, which maintains that education is supposed to be relied on the belief in people's good nature; based upon the belief, education mainly functions to protect, preserve and strengthen people's good nature. Thus, for quite a long time, education has been misunderstood upon a false assumption of people's nature: people are born good in nature. As an advocate for such a belief, Confucianism in ancient China has proposed a establishment of a society with morality and benevolence; on the level of individuality, to cultivate one's moral character and to nurture one's personality is advocated; then on the level of society, education and cultivation and socialization advocated. Accordingly, education aims to train the gentleman with morality and intellects. Therefore up to now, the optimistic belief in people's good nature in China has been still pervasive in the circle of education. Truthfully, such romantic assumption in the belief in people's good nature proves to be an obstacle to our rational rethinking of the current situation of education.Education is not a vacuum, immuning from outside influence. Educating is carried out in a complex social network, which uncovers multitudes of dark sides in people's heart. Particularly as people's nature is linked to absolute authorities, the former tends easily to decline. The bureaucracy institute in China exists for so long time of over thousands of years that a rather strict pyramid of authorities still finds its root deeply in the social structure and its fundamental formation comes as the following: political leaders, cadres, people on the grass root. Such an authorial structure is incapable of producing a workable and effective mechanism of balancing authorities. In many a case, leaders and cadres viewed authority as an access to increase of their own profits, and infringe the rights of the mass, ignorant of laws. But a great number of people hold innocently that the dark sides hiding in authorities can be removed through educating. However, it is proved time and again that education alone fails to purify authorities; quite the contrary, the authority relationship in education is found analogue to that in society. Then, the field of education is dominant with the sense of "the priority over authority". In colleges and universities abundant with the bureaucracy spirit, the interaction between people is made around the center of authority.
