In this research,235 students of the secondary vocational school are selected to investigate the secondary vocational school students' self-esteem and mental health as well as the relationship between self-esteem and mental health, Using Rosenberg's self-esteem scale and SCL-90.This research altogether is divided into two parts: part one: research about the developmental characteristic of the secondary vocational school students' self-esteem. Part two: correlation analysis about self-esteem and mental health. The result is as follows:The result of part one indicates that: (1) Sexual difference of the secondary vocational school students' self-esteem is not significant, the correlation between the sex and the grade, the sex and the city and countryside is not significant. (2) Grade difference of the vocational school students' self-esteem is significant, from the lower grade to the higher grade, the self-esteem level drops gradually. (3) The difference of the secondary vocational school students' self-esteem is significant in the school and the specialty. (4) There is significant difference between the city and countryside vocational school students' self-esteem, the countryside remarkably is higher than the city. (5) The only child self-esteem remarkably is lower than the non- only child vocational school students' self-esteem. (6) The vocational school students' self-esteem remarkably is lower than the high-school students'.The result of part two indicates that: (1) There is significant difference between the male and female vocational school students in anxiety and photic anxiety factors.(2) There is significant difference between grade one and grade two students in the somatization factor; There is significant difference between grade one and grade three students in the interpersonal sensitivity factor, photic anxiety factor, paranoid ideation factor, psychoticism factor; There is significant difference between grade two and grade three students on the interpersonal sensitivity factor,photic anxiety factor, psychoticism factor . (3) There is significant difference between the city and countryside vocational school students' in the interpersonal sensitivity factor, depression factor and photic anxiety factor. (4) There is significant difference between the only child and the non- only child of vocational school students in the interpersonal sensitivity factor and photic anxiety factor.
