With the rapid development of education in secondary vocational students,the scale and standardized management of schools and all aspects of pressingsocial needs and requirements to students’ career choices, the students arefaced with various mental confusions and problems. However, few studiesinvolve the mental health for the students in secondary vocational schools. Inorder to understand their sound personality, mental health and theirs relation,enrich practical experience of teaching and instruct them get all rounddevelopment, our research adopts the literature and questionnaire methods.The text is consist of five parts:The Background and Value of the Topic: From the mental problems of thestudents in secondary vocational schools and theirs unsound personalitycharacters, we search for the causes of problems. Supplement nationalsamples to provide the psychological research in certain area with data. Findout theoretical basis that beneficial for solving psychological problems anddiscuss the targeted strategies accord with characteristics of students in localsecondary vocational schools.Literature Review: We summarize the concepts and standards of mentalhealth both at home and abroad; current situations of mental health as well ascommon mental and behavioral problems in domestic secondary vocationalstudents and whose present personality status; the research related to thepersonality and mental health of the national secondary vocational students.The Research Process and Results:460students from three secondaryvocational schools of Ordos city were tested as samples. The questionnairesurvey was conducted by directly delivering the questionnaires which havedetailed guidlines to the testes. The actual distributed questionnaires were460,of which432were retrieved and397valid, so the recovery and effectiverate was93.9%and91.9%respectively. Data was analysed with correlation,regression and statistic analysis by the statistical software, SPSS17.0. The Results: We analyse the unhealthy mental factors formed in thepersonality development of secondary vocational school students and alsodiscuss the relationship between the big five personality traits and mentalhealth. The main results are as follows:①.The mental health among secondary vocational school students, ingeneral, didn’t differ signally in the variables like nationalities and grades.②There were no significant differences in depression, anxiety, terror andother factors among the secondary vocational students in three schools,instead of factors in somatization, obsession, interpersonal relationship,hostility, paranoia and psychology.③Sexual differences influenced the mental health level of the students insecondary vocational schools, of whom males were more easily to differgreatly in paranoid and psychosis factors.④The students’ different majors have a direct impact on their hostility,paranoia and psychology level.⑤There was significant link between five-factor personality and mentalhealth level.⑥The sound personality level of students in secondary vocational schoolspredictes their mental symptoms in some degree.According to the results of the research, we put forward the followingsuggestions:1. Make schools which play the role of educational positionsfully express their functions and strengthen the mental health education ofsecondary vocational students.2. Combine families and society with schoolsto produce the educational resultant force and enhance the culture educationof secondary vocational school students.
