The cooperative learning started in the United States, having become"one of the most important realms in contemporary education theories, researches and practices". Until the end of last century 90's, researchers in our country also started introducing cooperative learning theories, and started considering native development problem of cooperative learning. Until now, China and America, in these two nations, there are several cooperative learning research communities, did a great deal of work in cooperative learning research, made a thorough and systematic research of it. Johnson and his brother's research in American and subject cooperative learning research in China are two typical cases that can represent the research and its achievement.The Johnson Brothers'cooperative learning research in American based on the psychological perspectives of social interdependence, cognitive development and behavioral learning theory. It emphasizes the purposes of promoting student's achievement effort, interpersonal relation and mental health through the effective cooperative learning. On these grounds, they design"learning together"teaching strategy in the cooperative learning, and make extensive use in classroom teaching.China's subject cooperative learning, as an important strategy in subjective education, mainly based on the philosophic theories about human's subjectivity in Marxism.
